Issue/Introduction

The following error is displayed when trying to connect to the RiskFabric_ASDB linked server in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS):

An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)

The OLE DB provider "MSOLAP" has not been registered. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7403)

Cause

The Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services 14.0 driver has been removed from the SQL Server host.

Resolution

Download the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services 14.0 driver from Microsoft and reinstall on the SQL Server host.
