Issue/Introduction

After integrating MIP with DLP / CASB we are getting a confusing message in our incidents that states:

"No MIP Label found or unknown taxonomy"

What does this mean?

Cause

The Content is classified and Content matches options will show the document’s classification label in the Enforce incident.  

However, if the content is not classified and the Content does not match any known criteria in which to apply a label the incident yields the “No MIP Label found or unknown taxonomy” statement in the incident snapshot.

Resolution

While this may be a rather ambiguous statement the product is working as designed.

This has also been observed when a MIP label is used that has been deleted from O365.
