Issue/Introduction

Datacom released Critical PTF LU12061. Should this PTF be installed ASAP or can it be installed in the normal maintenance cycle?

Resolution

When using VSAM linear data sets for Datacom system files or Datacom/AD using product data sets then install the PTF ASAP. 

The option to use VSAM linear data sets in a DATACOM/AD new installation became only available very recently . 

Additional Information

To check what type of data sets are used , run DBUTLTY REPORT AREA=CXX,TYPE=B .

The report has a line with  DEVICE TYPE - 3390 xxxx where xxxx can be EXCP or VSAM .
