Unable to change the Symantec VIP Radius configuration on Exchange 2016 server using IIS7

Issue/Introduction

Error: "Error Setting Registry Entries. The operation completed successfully" when attempting to save changes to the VIP IIS configuration settings.

Who is logged in when attempting to save the configuration?

The user is logged in using domain administrator privileges into the exchange 2016 server.

What specific changes were made?

The "iis7_config.exe" is opened, and in the last tab for RADIUS, the Server IP addresses are modified. The VIP server IP addresses are switched to new VIP Gateways.

Normally, after updating the Radius configuration settings, such as the IP addresses of the new Gateway, one would attempt the "Test Settings" option. Was that attempted before saving?

Yes, upon entering the new IP and clicking TEST, it shows as successful. When clicking OK to close, an error is encountered as seen below:

Registry privileges.

Resolution

When starting the IIS7_config.exe you need to right click the executable and "Run as administrator".
