Issue/Introduction

A third-party monitoring tool reports an error similar to the following for the SQL Server Agent job RiskFabric_Staging spUpdateStg_SymantecDLP:

Missing or no data returned when querying job "RiskFabric_Staging spUpdateStg_SymantecDLP"

Cause

Monitoring utilities are intermittently unable to check the status of the ephemeral job RiskFabric_Staging spUpdateStg_SymantecDLP because it is created by the jobs RiskFabric Processing and RiskFabric Intraday Processing when staging data from the Symantec DLP database and deleted at the conclusion of staging.

Resolution

Configure all third-party monitoring tools to either ignore ephemeral jobs or suppress alerts related to these jobs.
