MIM0061W System LPAR2 in file 00 - possibly inoperative

Issue/Introduction

When shutting down one of the lpars in the MIMPLEX, these messages appear:

MIM0911I system LPAR1 reported INACTIVE in XCF group MIM       
MIM0112E Local system's status has been externally altered; code=1
MIM0901I system LPAR2 leaving XCF group MIM          
MIM2014I GTAF deactivated - Reverting devices OFFLINE            
MIM2020I TPCF deactivated                                        
MIM3064I CONSOLE XCMD0001 has been scheduled for deallocation    
MIM3064I CONSOLE XCMD0002 has been scheduled for deallocation    
MIM3010I GCMF deactivated                         

Besides the message:

MIM0061W System LPAR2 in file 00 - possibly inoperative

Environment

MIM 12.5

z/OS any

Cause

The problem is the result of MII being shutdown prior to MIA. 
This presented a small window where the control file was not protected from integrity exposures. 
MIM best practice is for MII to initialize before MIA and shutdown after MIA. 

Resolution

When you shutdown, you should ensure that your MIA task is shutdown prior to the MII task.
