How to setup Implementer to manage the promotion of native development (COBOL on IBMi) environment from Dev to QA to Production?

Environment

CA 2E with PTC Implementer 12.5

Resolution

If you have already setup the 2E and Implementer environments, it is pretty much the same thing except you do not define a model object library.

From a high level, here are the steps in regards to managing COBOL applications:

• Name the source library, files library and program library for the environment
• The object codes for Cobol items are already provided - make sure they are active
• Run the build on the environment to see the items in #11-Work with Objects
• The build can be run from within #42-Work with Environments, then a #30-Build in front of the environment

The Implementer 12.5 Administrator guide, attached to this KB article, is a good source of information, especially regarding object codes.
