Issue/Introduction
When attempting all DASD displays in SYSVIEW, the following error is being returned:
GSVX529E SMS subsystem service failed, rc00000004 rsn00001391
Resolution
Error - GSVX529E SMS subsystem service failed, rc00000004 rsn00001391
The 1391 error code in IBM's "DFSMSdfp Diagnosis" manual (after first converting it from the hex value 1391 to the decimal value 5009), shows:
"Unable to acquire sufficient space in the user's address space."

The GSVX529E error did not occur when accessing the SYSVIEW DASD displays from VTAM.
The problem was solved by increasing the region size in the logon proc.
