Issue/Introduction

I'm trying to upload our existing certificate to the new servers but I keep getting "PAM-CM-0328: Error occurred. Please check Passphrase"  and I'm not sure why?

Environment

PAM 4.x

Cause

The .pem extension is normally used for x.509 formatted files. In this case, the certificate file was an x.509 file that the client was trying to upload as a PKCS certificate store.

Resolution

When uploading a X509 or PKCS certificate, the certificate you are uploading to the PAM appliance must match the appropriate format selected regardless of the file name extension. Also make sure you select the correct Type. A certificate file that contains a chain of certificates either would have to be split up or imported as a bundle.
