Resolution

There isn't any special prerequisite maintenance needed to migrate from CA1 14.0 to 15.0.  Note that for 15.0, some of the base CA1 components will have new FMIDs, so migration to 15.0 is basically a fresh new install not requiring PTFs per se.  Also, this new release introduces some new components as part of the complete package - BTE and Vtape.  The Vtape component is optional, but is required if you want to take advantage of storing long-term retention files in the cloud (private or even public – since the data is now being encrypted).  If you already have Vtape R12.6 active on your system, you simply need to install a few PTFs to gain the ability to backstore data to the cloud.

Here is a breakdown of the FMIDs used for 15.0:

Product CA1 Flex Storage (15.0):

-----------------------------------------------

CBAFE00 (CTS) - old 14.0 FMID

CAL0F00 (CA1) - new FMID for 15.0

CAG8E00 (GATE) - old 14.0 FMID

CD4BF00 (BTE) - new component for 15.0

CCUUC60 (Vtape) - new optional component for 15.0.  If one already has the Vtape product installed, no need to re-install this
