Issue/Introduction

Getting an error while accessing the SilverLightService Virtual directory “Default Website > Altiris > Event Console > SilverLightService > Configuration Editor”

Error message:

There was an error performing this operation.

Environment

ITMS 8.7

Cause

It is looking for the “SilverlightService” folder from the “EventConsole” virtual directory folder on the SMP Server, which no longer exists in ITMS 8.7 release.

Resolution

IT Management Suite Console starting with the ITMS 8.6 Release no longer requires Silverlight.

Workaround:
You can delete 'SilverlightService' web directory manually or keep as it is as it will not impact any product functionality. 

This issue has been reported to our Broadcom Development team. We are planning to remove this virtual directory completely and it is targeted for the next release: ITMS 8.7.2.
