termination of starter.exe results in multiple copies of perfmon.exe

Issue/Introduction

Sometimes we see after robot restarts that multiple copies of perfmon.exe are left over:

 

 

Environment

Release : 20.4

Cause

The perfmon probe has a helper probe called starter.exe which is responsible for starting the probe.

Sometimes the controller kills this process, but leaves perfmon.exe running (usually on restart of the robot.)

Resolution

The next GA release of perfmon probe after 1.63 will have a fix for this.
