Fail to send a test email after configuring the SMTP settings in the SMP console when using office365.com as SMTP

Issue/Introduction

A test email failed to send after configuring the SMTP settings in the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) console when using office365.com as SMTP.  The error received was:

Test failed
SMTP operation failed with the following details: Server:smtp.office365.com; Port:587(A value of -1 indicates default); Username:[email protected]; Error Message: Failure sending mail..

ITMS 8.6 RU3

 

Resolution

This issue was fixed in the ITMS 8.7.1 release.
