Issue/Introduction

I would like to check if it is OK to install the Nimsoft robot in below custom paths without an RPM package?

/opt/EMS/nimsoft/probes/service/hdb/hdb
/opt/EMS/nimsoft/probes/system/cdm/cdm
/opt/EMS/nimsoft/robot/controller
/opt/EMS/nimsoft/robot/spooler

Environment

UIM: 20.4

Resolution

This works fine - but we have seen some issues in the past when customers installed a robot to a non-default path, and then later, someone else at the same site tried to reinstall (or install) a robot and used the default /opt/nimsoft/ path which resulted in two robots being installed to two different paths at the same system.

Therefore we advise you to consider the use of a non-default path carefully
