Can I change the name of a Ideal user?

Issue/Introduction

Ideal customer needs to change the name of an existing Ideal user.

Resolution

You cannot change the name of a Ideal user. You must delete the user and all occurrences of any versions, including HIST. The user can then be created with a new name.

To begin, you can execute the command DIS IND USER username to get the list of versions that exist for that particular user.

Then use the options MARK PROD version to HIST, then delete HIST and any other versions that exist.

Once all versions are deleted, you can than CREATE user and MARK the TEST version to PROD.

MARKing the user to PROD in every CICS region will pick up the changes made. A cold start will also pick up the changes.
