After upgrade to SPE 9, virus definitions are out of date

Issue/Introduction

After install or upgrade to SPE 9, the SPE 9 Application console shows a virus definitions show of 06/23/2023.

Environment

Release : 9.0.1

Resolution

1. If the environment requires a proxy, enter proxy settings.
   
   
2. Trigger a LiveUpdate downloaad
   
   
3. Wait ten minutes then check LiveUpdate Status to see if the date of the definitions is today's date.

 

To trigger a LiveUpdate download, do one of the following

• In SPE 9 application console, on Settings, click LiveUpdate button
  
  
• In SPE 9 applicatioin console, on LiveUpdate settings, change the schedule from Every 2 hours" to a schedule five minuite from now and then click "Apply Changes". When the Close button lights up, click Close.
  
  
• at the Linux bash prompt, type: touch /opt/symcscan/bin/LUNowFlag
  
  
• at the Windows cmd prompt, type: echo "" >"C:\Program Files\Symantec\Scan Engine\LUNowFlag"
