Issue/Introduction

A VLSUTIL LIBRARY of a VLS Object library doesn’t return the version number of a report, panel or program when it has been marked to PROD but shows PRD instead; for example, program EMPLIST of $ID system:

Resolution

You can determine the version number of a PRD program, panel or report by printing the module header, via Ideal Batch utility.

  1. Using the above program (EMPLIST) and system ($ID), the z/OS SYSIN cards will be:
    //SYSIN   DD  *                         
    SEL SYS $ID
    @I$CALL ADPOBJ PGM EMPLIST VER PROD HDR
    OFF
    /*          
  2. For z/OS, the output will go to the sequential file SYSDIAL. For VSE, the output will go to the sequential file SYSLST. Here is the sample output; the actual version number is 001:
