Can SPE scan vormetric protected storage?

Issue/Introduction

Can SPE scan Vormetric protected storage (or encrypted files)? Is there an option for us to enable the scanning if yes?

Resolution

The database server or NAS device should be configured to perform Vormetric encryption last after Symantec Protection Engine scans the file for any attempt to write to a database or NAS device protected by both SPE and Vormetric Encryption.

The database server of NAS device should be configured to perform Vormetric encryption first before SPE scans the file for any attempt to read from a database or NAS device protected by both SPE and Vormetric encryption.

For any other form of encryption, the file must be decrypted before sending the file request to SPE.
