Issue/Introduction

VMWare hosts can be configured to have more than one socket.

Is CA Service Desk Manager  better configured with 1 socket with 4 cores or with 4 sockets with 1 core?

Environment

CA Service Desk Manager 17.x

Virtualized platform

Resolution

Since the sockets are controlled at the OS level, CA SDM does not have the ability to tell the OS what CORE/socket to use.

So basically CA SDM will not care if there is 1 socket or 4 sockets.  CA SDM performance will be the same no matter how many sockets are configured at the VM level.
