Unable to update the Vantage System Parameters using the Vantage StoragePoint™ Web Client.

Issue/Introduction

When implementing Vantage 14.1 and trying to configure the GMI (System Parameters), Vantage StoragePoint™ Web Client error message with text 'null' is being generated.  This occurs regardless of which system parameter is being configured.  The general message syntax appears as: 

"<exclamation point> <Vantage host identifier> : null" 

Also, the Vantage host task shows the following message shortly after startup: 

"GENPARMI PARM *INCLVAM HAS NO BEG PARENS IN VKGPARMS MBR"   (this statement text is referring to one of the comment lines found in the active VKGPARMS parmlib member)

And the MSGE output shows multiple messages, such as: 

"OBJCPARM Did not find start of value for Vkgparm=   "

Cause

The VKGPARMS parmlib member contains a blank line.

Resolution

Removal of ALL blank lines from the active VKGPARMS member resolved these problems and error messages.
