The Enclosure Management Processor (EMP) may periodically be too busy to scan all of the current, fan and voltage sensors on the ME4, aka 2U144 or 5U840, storage arrays and will produce a hardware alert which can be ignored. The EMP only manages the system, it does not manage or process the data I/O bit stream. These messages can be ignored.

The following lines may be found in the /var/log/messages file. The keywords to look for are "current sensor", "voltage sensor", and "temperature sensor" along with the "Enclosure Management Processor (EMP)" device reporting the alert.

The Web UI for the storage array can also show the latest events. There is a green up arrow in the bottom left section of the home page. Click on the arrow and select Show events. The arrow will change to orange once it is selected.
Again, the current, voltage, and temperature events can be ignored. Dell has suggested that a firmware update this in 2024 by ignoring these short five second alerts.
These spurious errors can be ignored. Dell will correct this in a future firmware update next year.
