You would like to know the steps for upgrading the Operating System (OS) of your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM).
You can upgrade the OS of your SEPM by following these steps:
1. Confirm the new OS is supported by the version of SEPM you have installed by reviewing the Release Notes for that version in this KB document. If the new OS does not support the installed SEPM version, you may need to upgrade the SEPM before upgrading the OS to avoid losing functionality.
2. Follow the steps in this document to prepare for disaster recovery.
3. Upgrade the OS. If you run into any issues while upgrading the OS, please contact Microsoft.
4. Run the Management Server Configuration Wizard to rewrite important SEPM configuration files.
If the SEPM is not running after Step 4., follow the process for Disaster Recovery in this document using the data collected in Step 2.
