Issue/Introduction

Customer manages their policies at management center.

While they was trying to edit policies, editor worked too slow.

For the reach the root cause here is the my tests,

I create policy and take referenced by more empty policy set so policy editor worked faster.

I took their policy file and import our lab environment so policy editor worked too slow at my lab environment so it was same.

Should we increase the management center VM resources ?

Resolution

Yes, when Management Center Policy Editor in MC-VA demonstrates clear performance issues, a behavior not experienced on the standalone Proxy appliance, the challenge would most likely be with the sizing of the resources, on the VM hosting the MC-VA instance. In this case, it's recommended to review the sizing and possible consider an increase.

The default configuration of MC VA can support up to 10 devices. Symantec delivers the following default VA configuration:

• CPU: 2 Cores
• RAM: 8 GB
• Disk 1: 4 GB
• Disk 2: 100 GB

To support more than 10 devices on an MC VA, an administrator must increase the requirements as listed in the following sections. So, there is the flexibility to do more.
