How do I hide the DSM systray icon from all the Users?

Issue/Introduction

How do you hide the CA Client Automation agent icon on the System Tray so Users will have no control over the Agent Configuration?

Environment

Client Automation - All versions

Resolution

• In the DSM Explorer drill down to Control Panel->Configuration->Configuration policy.
  
  
• Right click the 'Default Computer Policy' and select Unseal.
  
  
  
  
• Drill down to DSM->common components->CAF->System Tray and set the policy 'System Tray: Hidden' to true.
  
  
  
  
• Right click the 'Default Computer Policy' and select 'Seal'.

 

Additional Information

If you want to hide the systray icon only on certain computers, then create a new configuration policy with the above settings and distribute it to the desired computers.
