Assemble and link of Intertest options module CAVHCONF fails with IEW2677S.

Issue/Introduction

When using sample JCL in HLQ.CAVHJCL member CAVHCONF to change the global options, the link edit step fails with the following errors:

IEW2677S 5130 A VALID ENTRY POINT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED.
IEW2230S 0414 MODULE HAS NO TEXT.
IEW2677S 5130 A VALID ENTRY POINT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED.
IEW2012I 0F09 ALL TEMPNAMES HAVE BEEN USED. THE MODULE CANNOT BE SAVED.
IEW2008I 0F03 PROCESSING COMPLETED.  RETURN CODE =  12.

Cause

The assembly default options were set to NOOBJECT as shown below.

Options for this Assembly
NOOBJECT

Resolution

Add the OBJECT option to the Assembly step ASM as shown below.

//ASM      EXEC PGM=ASMA90,REGION=2M,              
//             PARM='LIST,XREF(SHORT),RENT,OBJECT'

This will create an object deck to be processed by the linkage editor.
