Issue/Introduction

Having defined a new CF List Structure required for the Xmanagers using XSYS=Y in the environment and having supplied a preference list for two CF’s.
How is the structure is recovered in the event of a CF loss?

Resolution

The CF List Structure used by the Xmanager is a persistent structure. If a CF is lost at a site, an Xmanager will use the information contained within
its Xmanager Configuration File (XMCF) to rebuild the information contained within the structure.  This occurs during Xmanager initialization when
it is establishing the environment for the Xmanager Level Set Processing.

If a CF is lost at a site follow these steps to recover it:
- Shut down all ACTIVE Xmanagers in the SYSPLEX that are using the CF List Structure.  They must all terminate before proceeding to the next step.
- Make sure the list structure is empty.  The “/SETXCF FORCE,STRUCTURE,STRNAME=<structure name>” can be used to deallocate the list structure.
- If PTF LU09714, published on 04/04/2023, is installed proceed to next step.  If it is not installed, execute the GEZLVUTL to allocate the list structure then proceed.
- Restart all of the Xmanagers. The contents of the CF List Structure will be restored during Xmanager initialization.
