Issue/Introduction

Have you ever been viewing a SYSVIEW display that contains information that you want to send to someone else?
It would be useful if you could email the information without jumping to your email application.

Resolution

With the SENDMAIL command you are able to do just that. You do not have to switch over to your email program. In fact, there is no session switching involved.

You simply cut and paste the desired data into the body of the SENDMAIL command.

-The SENDMAIL command sends a simple text email through an SMTP server. The message can be sent as HTML or plain text. Each email contains a footer that is automatically generated. The information contained within the footer can be customized by your SYSVIEW administrator.

Include footer in email.

-If HTML is specified (or defaulted), the footer text that is used is defined in the template member FOOTHTML. Otherwise, if TEXT is specified, the footer text that is used is defined in the template member FOOTTEXT.

-The email is sent using a defined SMTP server and port number. The SMTP server and port are defined in the OPTIONS member of the sysview.CNM4BPRM data set.    Messages can be sent to multiple recipients or groups.
