Click-Time URL Protection FAQ- Email Security.cloud
Symantec Email Security.Cloud
1. How does Email Security.Cloud process Clicktime URL rewritten URLs once the subscription expires?
When the license expires, the service will cease to rewrite any new URLs. However, if you happen to click on an existing rewritten URL that was generated prior to the expiration of the license, you will be redirected to the original URL without any scanning.
2. Will the old Clicktime links in emails from the past still be clickable, or will they stop functioning due to Clicktime's rewriting
The click-time component will continue to process requests for URLs that have previously been rewritten, and it will redirect all requests to the original URLs without performing any scanning once the customer is no longer valid or no longer has the Clicktime service enabled.
Note:
Beginning with the January 2024 release, rewritten URLs are no longer available indefinitely. A new message is displayed when the link either cannot or should not be scanned at click-time.
For example, this message appears when a user clicks a URL linked to a customer that no longer has the Click-time URL Protection service enabled, or is no longer an Email Security.cloud customer. The message also appears when a valid customer clicks on a URL that is more than one year old.
