Error: failed to validate symantecinstallationmanagersetup.exe" during upgrade in Symantec Installation Manager (SIM)

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to run an upgrade using Symantec Installation Manager you may receive an error message stating:

The following files have failed to validate:
https://www.solutionsam.com/solutions/8_7_1/symantecinstallationmanagersetup.exe

Environment

ITMS 8.7

Cause

In this particular case, the User Access Control (UAC), was causing the problem.  

Resolution

Disabling the User Access Control resolved the issue. 

It is always a good idea to disable UAC when doing an install, upgrade, or point-fix implementation.  In addition, it's also a good idea to also temporarily disable the anti-virus real-time scanning for the duration of the planned install, upgrade, and point fix implementation.
