Cloud Secure Web Gateway - Cloud SWG

Issue/Introduction

Users accessing internet sites via Cloud SWG using WSS Agent.

Traffic destined for Intranet sites, accessed by the same users, will go through an on-premise Edge proxy.

Error pages customised for users so that there is consistency across both Cloud and Edge proxy servers.

When users are blocked accessing sites via the Cloud Proxy, an additional field exists (highlighted in yellow) which is not rendered when getting blocked via Edge proxy servers:

How can one remove this message for Cloud users?

Environment

UPE Managed Cloud SWG environment.

Custom error pages.

Resolution

Modified the exception page $(exception.contact) variable to include test admin wanted to display. This variable was causing the review message above to appear in the exception page.

Additional Information

WIth the onpremise proxy, the option «Enable category review message in exceptions» controls whether that block of information on the custom error page is displayed.

When troubleshooting, we created a brand new minimal page and confirmed all worked fine - if we set the action to a simple DENY and used the default error page, the problem would not occur either.

Removed entries from the problem custom page until we found the exception.contact entry was making the difference.

Overwrote this with a message admin wanted and all worked.
