How to uninstall a DLP hotfix or maintenance pack from the Enforce or detection servers on Windows

Issue/Introduction

You would like to know the steps to uninstall the hotfix or maintenance pack from the Enforce or detection servers on Windows

Environment

DLP 15.8.x and above

Resolution

The hotfix or maintenance pack can be uninstalled from Windows systems using the below steps:

1. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features on the Enforce or the Detection server.
2. In the left pane, click on "View installed updates."
3. In the right pane, select the DLP hotfix or maintenance pack version installed.
4. Click the Uninstall button.

Note - The mentioned steps will restore the Enforce or detection server version to the one that existed prior to applying the hotfix or maintenance pack. 

For example - If 15.8 MP3 HF13 was applied to 15.8 MP3 Enforce or detection server, after following the above steps to remove the 15.8 MP3 HF13, the version will revert back to 15.8 MP3. Similarly, if 15.8 MP3 was applied to 15.8 Enforce or detection servers, after removing MP3, the Enforce or detection server version will revert back to 15.8 GA version.

Administrator privileges are required to uninstall the hotfix or maintenance pack else you might see the below error message.
