Issue/Introduction

When using per-period metrics, if the type is Duration, the periods displayed are not correct if the first period is not complete

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a project that spans from the 1st of July 2023 till the 31st of December 2024
  2. Financially enable the project
  3. Create a monthly cost plan that spans from July 2023 till December 2024
  4. Add a row to the cost plan and add a total value
  5. On the View Options select Quarters as Periods, Periods as Type and provide Cost Plan Start and Finish as periods.

Note 2023-Q3 is displayed as the first-period

  1. Change the Type to Duration

Note the first quarter displayed is 2023-Q3

  1. Create a monthly cost plan that spans from September 2023 till December 2024
  2. Add a row to the cost plan and add a total value
  3. On the View Options select Quarters as Periods, Periods as Type and provide Cost Plan Start and Finish as periods.

Note 2023-Q3 is displayed as the first period (September 2023 falls on Q3)

  1. Change the Type to Duration

Expected Results: The first period to be displayed 2023-Q3

Actual results: The first period is removed 2023-Q3 as it is not a full period and the first full period is displayed 2023-Q4

Environment

16.1.3

Cause

DE77594

Resolution

This is fixed in 16.2.0

Workaround: Until DE77594 is fixed, manually select the appropriate periods instead of using the 'Cost Plan Start' date in the View Options when using periods other than what is defined for the Cost Plan properties.

Additional Information

This also happens with weeks if the first of the month falls in the middle of the week and years if the cost plan starts in the middle of the year
