Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to ITMS 8.7.1, while trying to upgrade the Task Servers to the latest version, some task servers are not showing in the "task service upgrade" policy (under Settings > Notification Server > Site Server Settings > Task Service > Advanced > Task Service Upgrade).

While reviewing the "Prerequisites for Site Service" on one of those missing Task Servers, "Net framework version supported" appears as "No"

Environment

ITMS 8.7.1

Resolution

With our ITMS 8.7.1 release, the .NET 4.8 framework is supported (see ITMS 8.7.1 What's New in This Release)

Due to the "Computers without compatible NET.Framework" target (under the SMP Console > Manage > Filters > Computer Filters > Task Service Filters) used in the Task Service upgrade policy, those task servers without the .NET 4.8 framework version installed are not considered.

In order to fix this issue, upgrade the .NET framework to the 4.8 version:

.Net Framework 4.8 or 4.8.1 should be installed on the Task Server for installation of Task Service 8.7.1 or upgrade to Task Service 8.7.1.

Only the latest versions of Windows OS are supported installation .Net 4.8.1.
Older versions of Windows OS are supported by installation only .Net 4.8.
