Unable to login to FIPS enabled 14.3 RU8 SEPM after upgrading Operating System

Issue/Introduction

Login to 14.3 RU8 SEPM with FIPS enabled fails with an "Unexpected server error. ErrorCode: 0x10010000"  after the Operating System was upgraded from Windows Server 2019 to Windows Server 2022.

In the scm-server-0.log you'll see the following messages:

Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "Failed to load default trust store"

Trying to connect database...
SEM: Connect to database failed
java.sql.SQLException: SEM: Connect to database failed

java.security.KeyStoreException: Failed to load default trust store

Environment

  • 14.3 RU8
  • Windows Server 2022

Cause

Upgrading Operating System from Windows Server 2019 to Windows Server 2022.

Resolution

Locate the certificate used by the SQL server which hosts the SEPM database.  Import this certificate into the SEPM server's Windows Trusted Root Certificate Authorities.
