Issue/Introduction

The IPv6 labels can be set when configuring the IPv6 address for controller A and controller B in the Dell Powervault Web UI.  They cannot be changed.  Only deleted and then re-added.

Resolution

Dell does not have a change feature for the IPv6 label in the Web UI for the controller IPv6 address configuration.  The address will need to be deleted and added back in, with the correct IPv6 label included.

The procedure is:

  1. Log in via the Dell Powervault Web UI to controller A for the ME4 storage array via your browser
  2. Log in via the Dell Powervault Web UI to controller B for the same ME4 via your browser, under a different tab.
  3. From the browser logged into controller A, delete the IP address for controller B
  4. Add the IP address for controller B, including the updated IPv6 label.
  5. Verify controller B works by logging into it again
  6. From the browser logged into controller B, delete the IP address for controller A.
  7. Add the IP address for controller A, including the updated IPv6 label.
  8. Verify that you can login to controller A from your browser, before logging out of controller B.

This should allow you to make the change to the IPv6 label for both controllers.
