SCRT abending with rc 16

Issue/Introduction

Broadcom has requested SCRT information for the last 7 months.  When executing program,JVMLDM86,  to collect SCRT information from, the program abends with a return code of 16 and error message:

SCRTTOOL603: SCRT PROCESSING HAS FAILED DUE TO A SEVERE ERROR. 

Environment

Release : 15.0

Cause

The job was failing with a JAVA error:   Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: default directory must be absolute

The user who submitted the job had a uss home directory of /u/tmmdm.  It turns out that directory got deleted in his USS environment.  

Resolution

Review/Modify OMVS HOME directory so that it is valid and accessible.
