What is the correct approach to remove MCS monitoring and move it to IM?

Issue/Introduction

What is the correct approach to remove monitoring using MCS and move it to IM?

Is there any way to do it without impacting the servers in monitoring, like if we can override the monitoring using IM and then remove it from OC.

Environment

• DX UIM: 20.4, 23.4 or higher
• mon_config_service
• MCS
• Operator console user interface

Resolution

Steps listed below to remove the MCS profiles:

1. From the OC UI, select the Groups' page then select the group you want to remove MCS from.
2. Select the Monitoring config
3. On the Profiles tab, select the profile you want to remove, then select delete profile.
4. Once the process is completed, the plugin_metric file will be updated and the metrics for the deleted profile will be removed from each robot in the group.
5. Repeat step 2 for all the MCS profiles you want to remove
6. Deploy the original probe package to the robots
