XCOM_JAVA_HOME directory not found error upon XCOM start

Issue/Introduction

Customer reported having a problem starting XCOM.  They tested it previously and were able to use it normally.  But recently

 

when they tried to start XCOM they got the following error: 

 

Error: XCOM_JAVA_HOME directory C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_251 not found

 

Environment

OS:  Windows Server.

Cause

Resolution

We provided them with these remarks--from which the problem was resolved:

-

 

It seems there has been a Java update on the machine (maybe automatic) and at the same time it uninstalled the old--previous

 

version "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_251".

  

 

So the environment variable XCOM_JAVA_HOME and XCOM.GLB parameter XCOM_JVM both need to be updated

 

accordingly--to point to the new Java version installation directory.
