Issue/Introduction

Creating a custom notification template using the 'Assigned Resources' field is not working as expected.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Login to Clarity MUX with Administrator access.
  2. Create a notification defination for Task as  target object.
  3. Add the attribute 'Assigned Resources' in both subject and message of the notification defination
  4. Once the notification def is created, trigger the rule such that a notification is generated.

Expected Results: To see the actual values from the 'Assigned Resources' field show up in the Subject and Body of the generated notification.

Actual Results:  Notification itself is not being sent and a null pointer exception is thrown.

Environment

Release : 16.1.3

Cause

DE77462

Resolution

Workaround: To allow the message to be successfully generated, do not use this field in the Notification Template until the DE77462 is resolved.

DE77462 is fixed in 16.2 (Scheduled to release in Nov 2023) and also backported to 16.1.3 Patch 1
