SONAR error code 0/1 with Endpoint Protection 14.3 RU6 and 14.3 RU7

Issue/Introduction

After installing Endpoint Protection (SEP) 14.3 RU6 or 14.3 RU7, clients report errors loading the SONAR engine:

• Event ID 73: "SONAR has generated an error: code 1: description: Heuristic Scan or Load Failure"
• Event ID 74: "SONAR has generated an error: code 0: description: Definition Failure"

Following the steps from KB 165152 does not fix the issue.  (Or the issue returns after a couple days.) 

Environment

Release : 14.3 RU6 or 14.3 RU7

Cause

BASH engine 12.7 fails to gather signing information due to a defect with SymEFA. 

Resolution

This issue is fixed in SEP 14.3 RU8 and BASH engine 12.8. For information on how to obtain the latest build of SEP, please refer Article ID: 151364.
