Issue/Introduction

We would like to rename all HLQ of the datasets used by our CA-Dispatch runtime libraries, including the databases.

For sure, I will need to change all STCs and jobs running Dispatch utilities to point to the new databases name, etc...

My main concern is about the database CA-Dispatch is using.  If I rename the database files, will Dispatch still be work?

Is the name hardcoded in the database itself?

Environment

Release : 11.7

Resolution

Regarding changing the HLQ for your Dispatch database and libraries...

- You can change the HLQ of the Dispatch LIBRARIES.
- You can change the HLQ of the Dispatch DATABASE files.
- You can change the HLQ for any "NEWLY" archived DSN's by modifying the DSN PREFIX on the "VSGMU215-Sysgen Archive Task Information Screen".
- You can change the Bundle Recovery DSN Prefix on the "VSGMU110-Sysgen Control Information Screen".

If you do, you would in deed be responsible for updating all JCL, PROCS, CLISTS, INTERFACES, etc... to point to the new database and/or library names.

** You CAN NOT change the names of your existing Dispatch archive DSN's. As these DSN's are stored in the Dispatch archive database (hlq.AR) file.

** You CAN NOT change the names of the LDS files that are associated to the CADZSPLx region that Dispatch uses. As the names of the LDS files are stored in the ROOT LDS table.
