Enabling audit trail for virtual attributes

Issue/Introduction

We have a requirement to include the Baseline Start/Finish attributes of the task object into the audit trail. Unfortunately, as these attributes are virtual, there is currently no option to add them. Is there any alternative way to achieve this?

Resolution

By design virtual attributes cannot have an audit trail configuration. Apparently no viable workaround to enable it either as the design for virtual attributes are basically read-only coded from the master object, and to enable audit trail on such attributes would involve a code change and be considered as an enhancement in the product.
