ACF2 preparation for an upgrade to z/OS 2.3 from z/OS 2.1

Issue/Introduction

An upgrade to  z/OS 2.3 from current version Z/OS 2.1 is planned. What work and maintenance are required?

Resolution

1) A re-assemble and link of the ACF2/JES interface must be done. Determine the appropriate job in the CAI.CAX1JCL0 library from which the apply of usermod UMJ2999 was done: 

• If running JES2, run the JXBUMJ2 job.
• If running JES3, run the JXBUMJ3 job.
• If running Phoenix Software JES3plus, run the JXBUMJ3P job.

2) All required z/OS maintenance for every version of z/OS higher than the current version must be applied. Here that is maintenance for z/OS 2.2 and 2.3.  

z/os 2.2 ACF2 fixes required:

- z/OS 2.2 added the CertStatus field to the R_datalib DataGetFirst and DataGetNext functions.
