Default Unix Prevention Policies in DCS 6.9.3 Show Outdated

Issue/Introduction

When creating default Unix prevention policies in 6.9.3, the policy still says "A newer policy pack exists, this policy should be updated." and updating the policy pack does not resolve the issue. 

 

Environment

Data Center Security Advanced 6.9.x +

Cause

This is because the revision numbers are hard coded and given as 1 for detection, 2 for Unix and 3 for Windows policy packs.
We don't store OS information along with the pack as pack can have policies for multiple platforms.

Resolution

Follow the steps given below to apply the fix:

-Backup file Symantec\Data Center Security Server\Console\lib\sis-console.jar
-Extract the attached file 2023_09_01_6.9.3.console.zip and replace sis-console.jar (Attached to this article)
-Restart the console and check.
