Issue/Introduction

Secrets have been successfully vaulted within PAM, but the following error occurs when trying update one of them. PAM Server Control is not configured in the environment, what is causing the error?

PAM-CM-8014: Cannot update Secret as it is used by Server Control TLS settings

When trying to delete the secret, another error occurs.

PAM-UI-2911: Cannot delete Secret as it is used by Server Control TLS Settings.

Environment

Privileged Access Manager 4.1.0-4.1.4

Cause

The PAM Server Control integration can use a secret as part of its TLS settings. To prevent any issues with the integration, that secret is protected from being updated. However, there was an issue with the backend SQL query made which caused some secrets to be protected even if they were not in use by the PAMSC integration.

Resolution

The issue is resolved as DE574330 in the 4.1.5 release.
