CA Identity Suite CA Identity Governance

Issue/Introduction

Upgrade from CA Identity Suite version 14.4 GA to version 14.4.2 is failing while populating the Identity Governance database structure on the external database.

Environment

Release: 14.4 GA to 14.4.2

Cause

During the IGA upgrade from 14.3 to 14.4, the IG database scheme didn't get updated correctly, so it is giving an error.

Resolution

The error states that we need to open another SSH session to the appliance being updated and run the populateIgDatabase command in that session.

After that command completes go back to the original SSH session and click y to continue with the patch installation.

[INFO] Updating the Identity Governance database structure
Database update for IG failed
Please open another shell and run the "populateIgDatabase" command in order to complete the update of the Identity Governance tables
Once the operation is completed successfully - respond with "Y" to the question below
[INFO] Populating IG database structure on the external database
[ERROR] Operation failed with error #20

Execute the below SQL scripts externally and proceed with the upgrade by ignoring this error.

Upgrade_SDB_SQLSERVER.sql
upgrade_i2_MSSQL.sql

After executing SQL scripts, proceeded with the installation. This will complete the installation.
