This article provides instructions for increasing the logging verbosity for Connector Xpress. This is typically required when troubleshooting technical issues, such as the following error:
SEVERE: An internal error has occurred in Connector Xpress. Please report to CA. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
By default, logs may not contain sufficient detail to diagnose complex connector-related issues. Enabling "ALL" logging provides the verbose output necessary for debugging.
Identity Manager
To enable verbose logging, perform the following steps:
Backup the configuration file: Navigate to the conf directory of your Connector Xpress installation (typically \CA\Identity Manager\Connector Xpress\conf\). Create a backup of the logging.properties file (e.g., logging.properties.default).
Edit the logging file: Open the original logging.properties file in a text editor with administrative privileges.
Update logging parameters: Locate the following section and modify the levels to ALL. Ensure the FileHandler.limit is set to 0 (unlimited) to capture complete logs.
Restart the service: Save the file and restart Connector Xpress for the changes to take effect.
