Issue/Introduction

Query, can you have multiple identity portal instances in the same Virtual Appliance cluster?

By way of what, for example if there is a user from division A, he sees one interface and the user from division B sees another interface.

Environment

Release : 14.4

Resolution

1. Query, can you have multiple identity portal instances in the same Virtual Appliance cluster?

[Broadcom Support] <Yes, absolutely, you can deploy as many Portals in VAPP as desired>

2. By way of what, for example if there is a user from division A, he sees one interface and the user from division B sees another interface.

[Broadcom Support] <No, all users will access the same Portal URL and the same Portal interface.  They can control what users see through scoping, to ensure user from division A only sees Division A stuff, and user from Division B only sees B information - this would use normal scoping in IDM, and search filters in Portal to control what modules users see and what they have access to within those modules.

3. By way of what, for example if there is a user from division A, he sees one interface and the user from division B sees another interface.

[Broadcom Support] If you are asking 'can we have 2 separate portals one configured and branded 'Division A' and another Portal configured and branded Division B' that is not possible and would require 2 separate vapp deployments to accomplish. >
