Issue/Introduction

CA Spool started task issuing following message at startup:

ESF7988 The Product Registration common service is not available on this system - the interface will not be used

 

Environment

Release : 14.0

Cause

Message indicates CCS is missing PTF SO15973

PTF SO15973 allows Broadcom mainframe products using Continuous Delivery to be registered with IBM Function Registry for z/OS.

Resolution

For permanent resolution install CCS PTF SO15973

Message can be ignored - there is no impact to Spool functionality

Note message will be issued every time Spool started task comes up.
