The steps to deploy robots using Native Installers are included in the UIM techdoc: Deploy Robots in Bulk with a Third-Party Tool and Native Installers (broadcom.com)

Below is a real-life example:

As a preliminary step, ensure that ports are open bidirectionally between the robot and the hub and that you can telnet:

From HUB to robot on port 48000

and from

robot to hub on port 48002

The target system is a Cent-OS8 Linux machine:

1. Answer file prepared as below and saved as nms-robot.vars.cfg. (Leave an empty space at the end of the file)

domain=uimserver_domain
hub=uimserver_hub
hubip=##.###.##.##
hubrobotname=uimserver
hubport=48002
robotip=##.###.##.##
first_probe_port=48005

 

2. Loaded to /opt, the 2 files: 

nimsoft-robot.x86_64.rpm and answer file nms-robot.vars.cfg.

 

3. Execute on /opt rpm -ivh nimsoft-robot.x86_64.rpm

 

4. After this the robot.cfg will look as below: 

 

5. Run the robot configurer script: 

 ./RobotConfigurer.sh

 

6. Finally, start the robot:  

The robot will be listed under the hub:
